I Think I'm Ready To Be A Mommy!

Illiya was cold, wet & filthy...
Few days ago, we heard a kitten screaming at the top of its lungs in a drain. My mommy tried to rescue it but the concrete slabs were just too heavy to be carried up & the hole where the kitten fell through was too small for her to even put her arm in to grab it. So she had no choice but to leave it there.

The next day, it was still in there, screaming non-stop the moment it saw our heads popping through the holes. My mom still tried to help it but to no avail. Mommy felt really bad leaving it there coz it will definitely not survive. We wanted to get the kitten out too but our heads were too big. So, we all left it there again.

Day three, it was still in there. It still had energy to scream. We couldn't believe it! But still we couldn't do anything to help but then, two Bangladeshis tried to help. They actually managed to carry the 200 pounds concrete slab! They were strong... But still, they could not save it coz the kitten was somewhere else in the drain & so they left it.

But later, my hooman brudder grabbed the little fella on the head & pulled it out! It's saved! My mommy gave it food & water. It was starving coz it finished all the dry kitty kibbles. My hoomans could not take care of it coz we currently have gazillion dogs boarding with us right now & two kitties too. So my mommy put it in one of the corner house which has a LOT of cats. The owners of that house love cats but they were not home the whole day till night. I think they were on a howliday or something... They are still not home today.

During our evening walk, I found the kitten roaming around at the back. I like the little fella alot & played with it for a while. I'm very gentle with kittens but can be a little bit rough sometimes. I like to paw & nudge it with my paws & nose, kekeke!

It didn't know where to go so it just hung around us...

Mommy bathed it & also put on Frontline Spot On coz it had a few fleas crawling on it... It doesn't smell as good as before its bath. Fooofff!

Today, all the fleas were gone! Poof! Just disappeared! We had a good time with it & my mommy found out that it's a girl & my hooman brudder named her Illiya, a German name. She's soooo friendly towards us doggies & she played with us too. I licked her & groomed her but my hoomans always stopped me becoz they think that I'm too rough. Sheesh! Oh, guess what I did today???

Look! I'm nursing her! Heeheehee...

Actually, I did not know what she was doing to me at 1st coz I have no milky...

That's all my saliva on her... My mommy made a little collar for her too. Isn't she a cutie?

Ooops! Chloe has no milky too, heeheehee!

See, not all of us doggies are mean to kitties. We like kitties alot & we are very gentle with them! Malaysia has not seen this kind of thing before so my hooman M is gonna pee-mail it to a few of the newspaper companies in mah country so that Malaysians can see that doggies & kitties CAN get along...

Amber-Mae, your human family deserve a medal for not giving up on the tiny creature! That story is one of the best Christmas presents I have received. You look beautiful with the little kitten.

Your story is so heart warming, it almost makes me want to remove "chasing cats" from my blog's survey. Almost. But not quite. Anyway, you and your family are saints! Iliya is really cute and she's your new Christmas kitty!

I'm so glad the kitty is okay!

Oops. Did I just say that? About a CAT? Well... I guess it's out now... everyone will know I have a little soft spot for those creatures... oh dear...

Anyway, Lizzy says she's so glad the kitten was rescued. She thinks the pictures of you with the kitten are just adorable! She says she loves it when she sees animals of different kinds mingle together. She says it just goes to show what the earth will be like when Jesus comes again.

I agree with was Lizzy says, I guess. But, we're dogs! We can't trust cats! So be careful, he he.

Hurrah for saving the kitty!!!

She's quite cute... And I think she must be sooooo happy to have all of you look after her...

Yes it's not common in Malaysia for kitties and doggies to get along. But Rascal and I like cats... Rascal is best friends with Mishka our cat... they even eat from the same bowl!

That is a great story, so wonderful especially now at Christmas! I hope the kitty gets a nice new home too. That's what we're hoping with this puppy that's staying with us! He's obnoxious but Mom and Dennis just love him. He's sort of a rescue since his new home's people didn't treat him kindly and he became afraid and started to growl at the woman and she was afraid of HIM. Can you imagine, afraid of a 10 week old puppy... Anyway he loves it with Mom and us, she's a friend of the breeder and was asked if she could keep him for a while 'til he can get a new home with nicer people (is the sky blue? Is water wet? Of course Mom said yes). Mom loves puppies so much I hate to see her bring another one home, she forgets who loves her more (ME).

And yes, Bedlington pups are born dark (black or brown) and lighten up by 6 months. Most are born black, with black eyes and noses. I was born with brown eyes and a brown nose, so I was dark chocolate brown! I think I'm the prettiest...

Happy Holidays --
Rudy

Aww cute kitty! My mom rescued a little grey kitty about a year ago and techie dog was very gentle and loved it and played with it...then when it grew up it turned into meanie-cat and would bite me and jump on me and make me scared. Techie dog was so gentle that me didnt fight back hehe, so mom had to give cat away to a friend. Will post a picture of demon cat after christmas to show you hehe. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Hi Amber!

Thankies for leaving woofs on my bloggie. I is pretty new with bloggies, but I thinks they's great so far! If onlys I could get some chickens from the compooter...

I saw the pixturs with the kitty. I only met a kitty once, and it was big and kind of scary. I barked at it a bunch. I wish I could meet your kitty friend. Maybe not so scary?

that is a hearwarming story, Amber. your mom is a good person to rescue that kitten and you and your sisters are good dogs for being so sweet and accepting the kitten into your home. our mom wishes we were good with kittens and cats. we would just chase them and play hard with them. our mom wants us to be sweet and gentle like you are. we're glad there are nice dogs out there like you.

happy holiday woofers.

I thought Amber looked like an awfully smart dog in her graduation regalia, and once I saw her maternal inclinations towards the kitten, that thought was confirmed! Have you heard of Lily the lion in Belfast, Northern Ireland? She was rejected by her mom at the Belfast zoo, so zookeepers are using an Akita pup as her surrogate buddy. It's really adorable.
