Pool Party & A Catastrophe Happened AGAIN!

Our hoomies recently bought us a new foldable pool (a MEGA huge one!) & since yesterday was an extremely hot day, they decided to let us try it out. It's been more than a year since we last played in a foldable pool so we were very excited when we saw Melissa filling it up in the porch. We had a BLAST playing in it well up until...a catastrophe happened. But I'll tell you a little more about that later. Right now, let's have a look at pictures of us having a fun time in our new pool.

Here we are waiting so impatiently in the house for the pool to fill up. We had to wait for almost 2 hours! It was really killing us seeing it fill up so sloooooowly. And what's worst was, Melissa was teasing us by jumping into the pool & splashing about. We were very unimpressed by that.

Didn't I tell ya that it is MEGA huge? It is 96" in diameter & 18" in height. It's almost as tall as Faith, our spotted sister!

Finally the gate was opened but no, we weren't allowed to charge out & leap into the pool just yet. We had to do some obedience 1st. Here we are waiting for Melissa to give us the release command.

Finally! WOOH so many toys!!

Don't we all look cute together?

Noticed the spotted one is always at the back? We Goldens don't really play with her & neither does she want to play with us. She often plays alone or with her imaginary friend.

These were the last 2 pictures taken before the catastrophe happened.

Okay, now let me get back to what actually happened. Do any of you still remember the previous catastrophe that happened while we were playing in our other, smaller foldable pool? Well yes, history repeated itself! But this time, the pool didn't explode. River & Megan climbed out of the pool & accidentally pushed down the sidewall. TONS of water started gushing right into the house, almost reaching the kitchen that was 20 feet away. Water was everywhere! Under the couch, cabinets, piano & electrical wiring & plug points.

Thank goodness nothing is damaged but my hoomies had a fantabulous time sweeping all the water out of the house & moping the place dry. We on the other hand were still having a ball outside in the porch but in the end, our fun was cut short. We were NOT happy about that I can tell you this! What made us even more upset was, we had to get blow dried after that. Ugh!

  3. That's such a cool pool that I hope you all get to go in it again - just get your humans to put a few sand bags at their door to stop any more floods!

  4. Oh noooo! I can't imagine how sad you were when the pool exploded! I think you need to get a hard plastic pool like my turtle pool. Eh, it may be a tad on the small side, but there won't be any explodin' goin' on!

Looks like you had a great time while it lasted, though! :)

  5. That sure is a gigantic pool! Your hoomie Melissa is one of the wonderful hoomies that I've ever heard of. She knows how to make you all happy and she loves every bit of you. You guys are so lucky to have her.

I don't mind playing in the pool but I don't like being blow dry either.

  6. Oh dear, Amber-Mae - that DOES sound like a huge mess! I can't imagine how much water there must have been...a HUGE FLOOD!!

But I have to say, looking at the earlier pictures of you guys enjoying yourselves in that fantastic pool - it was sure worth it!! :-)

Looks like you guys had a fabulous time playing in the water - which we would expect, you being retirvers and all!

We did not know you had a spotted sister, is her imaginary friend a spotted one?

  8. Well, we think it was very generous of you to make sure your humans got cooled off too, and the house as well! Maybe next one, they need to get you a pool with rigid sides!

Those are GREAT photos! The ones of all of you in the pool are so much fun! Too ad about the spotted one, though...

  10. Your pool looks awesome... the weather these days have been scorching hot and my mom says it'd be lovely to have a pool like that where she can stay inside the whole day (and end up looking like a prune??).

OOps... sorry to hear about the 'flooding' and all the work your hoomans had to do to clean up. Heehee...

  11. What a wonderful way to cool down - but don't you have a grass area where you could put the pool so you didn't have any problems with it flooding?

And what is this about leaving the Spotted one out of your play sessions - Spotted dogs unite - I will be her buddy!!

  12. Oops, time to relocate that fun pool. We can just imagine the fun you can all have together in the pool - we used to have a small one but that was before TD and Ciara were here. Maybe we should get the Momster to get a new one.

Too bad you can't get another spotted pal for the cutie in the back. Bet she would like that.

  29. What a fun pool party! We are going to have to give that a try sometime! But we will make sure the pool is far away from the house to prevent any flooding:)Glad nothing got ruined from the tidal wave!

***majors in the states are are shows that are worth 3 or more points. Each state has a point schedule so the amount of dogs needed to make a major can vary but for our state we need 7 dogs to make a 3 point major and I think 9 dogs to make a 4 point major. There is a different point scale for bitches. Does that makes sense?

  30. hey Amber,

What a pawsome pool! It is so big! I can see that you pups had a blast while it lasted! All of you look so cute in the pool together. I hope the side can be fixed up so you can enjoy your pool again.

  66. Oh, what a sad end to your wonderful fun. I sure hope your humans will fill the pool again.

How about putting something in the pool itself - for instance, a set of metal steps with rubber caps on the bottom of the legs so they won't go through the floor of the pool - and another set of steps outside at the same spot.

You dogs are so well trained I reckon you could easily manage climbing up the steps and over the edge to the other set outside the pool.
